What’s your AA sobriety date and a simple word of advice for a newcomer?

I went alcohol free and drug free April 21, 2013. My advice is to find an AA meeting near you and start to meet sober people who live near you. If your problem was drugs, I would go to Narcotics Anonymous or Cocaine Anonymous, however they all follow the same principles of Alcoholics Anonymous so really any meeting is a great meeting.

I can’t control myself and what I say after I start drinking, I also start lying and making up things about myself which I never do sober Why?

If I were you, I would reach out to your network. I don’t know if you are in AA or NA. As far as sober apps , I think Loosid is the best sobriety app because it gives you things to do. the hotlines in Loosid are awesome because there’s always people to talk to. If you need sober help, I would suggest you use the hotlines or they can connect you with a drug treatment centre.

As a single person what’s the best dating site for finding true love?

I have to say I am a bit biased, as I work for Loosid app, which is a sobriety app that has over 800,000 interactions to date in our sober dating section. I think dating sites for sober singles are incredibly important as meeting someone who drinks or used substances is a big trigger, especially for those in early recovery. Before COVID, I have gone to AA meeting near me for years but sober dating in the rooms can get awkward if you break up with the person. I encourage you to check out Loosid and find sober singles near you and, for now, keep it virtual! Stay sober and stay safe!

Non drug users or drinkers how do you stay sober and have fun and enjoy doing things in-life?

I think the it is really important to find AA meetings near you, as well as connect to meet sober people though sobriety apps and sober websites. There are a lot of options that can help you find sober events, sober travel, sober groups, and even dating sites for sober singles . It's really important to know that learning how to live a sober life of enjoyment and excitement is the best way to show those who are hesitant the extreme benefits of sobriety.

What is the hardest part of staying clean and sober What works best for you?

Staying sober is infinitely easier than getting sober. The hardest part of staying sober is if you have not worked to program of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous or whatever your substance of choice. What I did was go to many AA meeting near me which allowed me to get addiction help and find tips to stay sober from people who have worked the Alcoholics Anonymous. It's also a great way to meet new sober single people to build a sober community around you. Take what you learn, apply those principles every day and you will have a program to pull out of your spiritual toolkit every day.
