What should a recovering alcoholic do on Friday and Saturday nights?
This is a great question as so many people think going drug-free and alcohol-free will mean the end of fun. The truth is, there are a million things to do. I think, outside of going to AA meetings near me/ you which is the best place to teach you exactly how to get sober, it doesn’t solve the question of how to have fun in sobriety, especially during the weekends like you mentioned. I would suggest finding the best sobriety apps that fit what you are looking for. For instance, if you are single and looking for sober dating to find sober singles near you, there are apps for that help you find love in recovery. Friday and Saturday nights will then be taken care of. If you are looking for sober events and other fun sober activities, again, you can find so many things that are happening. Right now, obviously because of COVID, most of this is pushed to virtual, but it wont last forever. There are other sober trips available which will soon be available as America starts opening up. I think the main thing is to start and engaging now. Sober apps and recovery apps are critical right now, since we can’t necessarily all meet face to face. Bottom line, there are over 300 million sober people in the world to pick from. You just need to look!
