Addiction is not something to be ashamed of
Addiction is not
something to be ashamed of - Shaming creates barriers to access help and
treatment
In active addiction, feelings of shame and
hopelessness can become unbearable. Shame can initially cause someone to drink
or use, and can keep them in the cycle of addiction.
People that feel embarrassed or unworthy of asking
for help, rarely seek it on their own.
Sobriety is courageous, it takes strength,
determination, and hard work. With sobriety you are facing life on life’s
terms, so we must lean into and celebrate sobriety.
We’ve launched a challenge to break down these
barriers so that those who are suffering can receive the help they desperately
need.
Join the #GetLoosidChallenge by posting a picture holding up 3
fingers, nominating 3 or more friends & donating on Loosidapp.com to help others battling addiction.
Let’s show the world that we support the Addiction
& Sober Community and #FightAddictionStigmas
